The Miserable Tripper

Pick from a story a sentence to summarise it: William Dalrymple's Nine Lives

Reading this book, midway and just finished “The Red Fairy”. It's the story about Lal Peri , a female Fakir at Sindh, sharing how being a west Muslim Bahir made her a triple refugee. Eventually came to Sindh. The light Darlymple shone on her story came with descriptions of Sufism’s contact with Wahhabism, and the tensions arising from two contrasting Islamic viewpoints.

For me, this sentence summarises this chapter best “Don’t kill infidels, kill your ego”. Itself a quote from Latif (Shah Abdul Latif of Bit Shah). For an ignorant like me, feasibly could've been uttered by a modern hippie.
