ACL reconstruction: 6 weeks post op

Pain: generally 0 with exception of …

  • random ‘itchy-pain’ inside knee, lasts a few minutes then goes away

  • occasionaal'1 of 10 ‘tearing’ sensation on op-site, and on knee medial area

Movement: Generally normal gait, full range of motion, Physio is happy!

  • Flexion of 137Degrees, this is now considered full ROM, as well as able to extend knee completely.

  • continues to experience some tightness on hamstring when attempting to hamstring curls - to be expected due to weakness from being grafted.

  • Swelling can be felt behind patella tendon - noticable when attempting to lower body into squat

  • Walking gait otherwise good

  • I could walk 15 minutes triggering much pain!

Rehab Exercises (see screenshot):

  • added ‘BALL Squeezing’ routine

  • added a slow squat routine

  • added hamstring stretch

Grateful for

  • no longer have tailbone pain, padded seat really helped.

  • so happy to have full range of motion

  • pinched sensation no longer noticable

  • relative good progress, expectation is it needs 3 months to recover from surgical swelling and incisions etc.
