James Popsys:
“Context without distractions”
I discovered James Popsys' youtube videos recently (well, presented to me by YT’s recommendation page). And had been watching them with keen interest. He is a photoghapher based out of Wales, and his photos are really nice.
The quote above is a video about his, and I’ll like to remind myself often as it is a meta that I would like to do well in my own photos too.
Link to James’ video below, but here’s a summary for my own future reference
importance to evoke curiosity in a scene (referencing “Show your work”)
Avoid distractions- find the composition that tells the story, yet finding the right balance to ensure not including too much as to dilutes a scene
James uses a chapel by the beach in Anglesey, North Wales as an example, and its best to see how he develops his shot over the course of the video.
